I saw this blazer within two minutes of walking into JCPenney, and I knew right then I had to have it. I confess, the leather elbow patches won me over. I will also confess, the guys in the group thought I was insane for lusting after an item that is so grandfatherly, so antique, so out.
After a double hair flip and a whatever, I told them this plaid blazer/elbow patch combo has to be a popular trend for fall because I’ve seen it in nearly every store. Both Target and H&M make nearly identical blazers, but neither are as good of quality as this MNG by Mango one.
As for my thoughtful commentary on mustard-colored clothing this fall, buy it.
Vans shoes are made to be comfortable and durable, but also stylish with so many unique colors and patterns to suit your personality. Check out Jay’s here, which he paired with a casual button-up shirt and jeans.
Vans are endorsed by tons of athletes and worn by lots of celebrities. One of my favorite famous men who is seen in Vans more often than not is Shia LaBeouf, who makes them work with a casual T-shirt and jeans or even paired with a dressy cardigan and skinny tie.
As the talented photographer for the entire JCP shoot, Lynn worked behind the lens but paused to pose in front of it, too. Here she’s rocking two great trends for fall. The first, maxi dresses, transitions easily from summer to fall by throwing on a bright cardigan.
Flannel is to winter what plaid is to fall—fashionable and functional. Both men and women can work a crisp plaid button-up this season, especially one with fall hues like Tom’s orange and brown shirt here.
He prefers to throw a simple cardigan over his button-up in case the weather, or the office with AC still blasting, gets a little chilly. Men, tuck in your shirt for a cleaner, more professional look, or leave it untucked for a casual weekend on the go.
I can’t help but look at Rachel here and think smoldering—the girl is a natural! As we walked into JCPenney to shop around for our looks, she was quickly drawn to this MNG by Mango leopard-print tunic.
This trend is so versatile because it fits in with whatever your personal style may be, whether you prefer it on a subtle belt, curve-hugging pencil skirt, relaxed cardigan or punchy loafers (which I need).
Although everywhere right now, I like to say leopard print will go out of style when sexy goes out of style.
The five Facets founders took to the park last weekend with a blanket, donuts and mini champagne bottles in tow. Dressed in some of hottest trends this fall and decked out in fabulous clothing and accessories from JCPenney, we relished in the good weather and good company—and we captured it all on camera.
In the spirit of fashion week, we’re bringing you our version. This week, we’re featuring different outfit posts each day showing off the latest fall trends for both women and men. We love a 6-foot tall model in a flowing gown, but real people with real budgets are more our style.
A heartfelt thank you to our friends at JCPenney for sponsoring this wonderful brunch and photo shoot!
