Jan. 27 is an international memorial day for the victims of the Holocaust, the genocide that resulted in the deaths of 6 million European Jews, 2 million Gypsies, 15,000 homosexuals and millions of others.

On this annual day of commemoration, every member state of the United Nations has an obligation to honor the victims of the Nazi era, and work to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides.
