The first day of spring is just a few weeks away, and we’ll definitely be adding this rosemary lemonade gin cocktail to our repertoire for seasonal gatherings, brunches or basically anything.
This “bathtub water” cocktail was inspired by the deep south featured in Beasts of the Southern Wild. This refreshing drink will certainly make you happy—and tipsy—noon or night. Find the recipe in our newest issue.
In honor of the Oscars this evening, why not throw a dinner party for best film nominee Beasts of the Southern Wild? The film takes places in a fictional southern Lousiana town, and while it tackles numerous issues, we can’t help but fixate on the food.
Hushpuppies (in honor of main character “Hushpuppy”) and boiled dungeness crab are a happy marriage of southern flavors. Chocolate mud cups for dessert and the “bathtub water” cocktail also taste like the deep south. Make this Beast feast tonight with the recipes in our latest issue.

Most of us tend to hibernate through the cold, blustery months that make up winter. We cozy up by the fireplace and seek solace in a hot toddy. Photographer David Pavlina, however, does just the opposite.
Pavlina layers up and heads outdoors to capture the haunting beauty that exists during the time of year the rest of us hope speeds by. And his photos are proof that winter really is marvelous to see.

"Social media imitates playground politics. Personally, I’d be happy to let the pigtail-pullers rule their corner of the world, as long as they didn’t infringe on my right to a life of quiet happiness. But they do. So what do you do? You watch the popular kids as closely as you can, hoping against all reason that one day they’ll hop off the jungle gym and relinquish the best spot. You watch others scoop up prime playground real estate and wonder when you got lost in the fray, standing on the wobbling bridges connecting the various park attractions and hoping you don’t fall.
"The truth is, you can only be at the top of the slide for so long. Popularity, for the most part, is married to impermanence. Cherish your moment, then join us on the wobbly bridges."
For a fuller lash look, go faux! False eyelashes have the reputation of being drag-like and dramatic, but you can try the trend with a great mascara and individual lashes for a natural-looking style.
