Happy Earth Day! In case you missed our latest issue, we introduced three brands that are both trendy and Earth-friendly. Check out three more of our faves:
The most designer-like brand of eco-friendly fashion, Organic by John Patrick was one of the first to use sustainable materials in a fashion-forward way and emphasize pieces that are made by hand. John Patrick has garnered many celebrity clienteles, including Rihanna, who wore the label’s slipdress in her “Diamonds” music video.
The UK-based line from two cousins, Chinti and Parker combines ethically made basics with style and substance. Every item is made using organic cotton, bamboo or seaweed. All jersey is produced in Portugal and woven cotton pieces are produced in Portugal and India, supporting local industry and growth.
Founded by entrepreneur Ali Hewson and her husband Bono (of U2 fame), Edun is devoted to promoting trade with Africa. New for spring 2013 is a 25-piece denim collection inspired by African creativity and designed by Diesel+Edun, using sourced denim from Africa and cotton from Uganda.
